Professional Development

All Colorado real estate brokers must be licensed through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).  Brokers belonging to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) must maintain higher standards in order to claim the REALTOR® title.  REALTORS® are required by NAR to participate in ethics training that aligns with the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.  Many ROCC members have obtained or are actively working on nationally recognized designations and certifications.

Our members are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education (CE) credits in each three-year license cycle.  The Professional Development Work Group garners ideas from ROCC members for course topics, researches and coordinates dynamic instructors, and ensures courses are offered in effective formats.

Past course topics have included:

  • agency relationships
  • comparative market analysis
  • contract updates
  • ethics
  • lending products
  • manufactured homes
  • marijuana in relation to real estate
  • marketing and social media
  • negotiating skills
  • pricing
  • wells and septic systems

In addition, the Professional Development Work Group also coordinates more informal panel discussions with area experts on regionally specific topics.  These sessions benefit both members and property owners and are open to the public to attend.

Upcoming course summaries and registration information are located on the "Mark Your Calendar" section of our home page.
