Position Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Organization: REALTORS® of Central Colorado, INC.

Location: Salida, Colorado

Salary: $60,000 per year

Benefits: PTO, work travel expenses covered

Location: Hybrid. Remote and In-office (Candidate must reside near or relocate before start date)

Job Type: Full-time

 

The CEO must not hold an active real estate license to avoid any conflicts of interest, yet it is preferred that they have a real estate background to offer valuable perspectives.

 

Summary/Objective:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of REALTORS® of Central Colorado (ROCC) is responsible for providing strategic, operational, and administrative leadership to the association in collaboration with the Board of Directors. This role involves effectively leading and managing the association to achieve its goals and objectives while adhering to established policies and procedures.

Leadership:

● Act as an aspirational, strategic visionary leader, fostering innovation, risk-taking, and change within the association.

● Participate in short and long-term planning with the Board of Directors to address business challenges and ensure the mission and values of ROCC are communicated effectively.

● Develop and maintain relationships with relevant organizations, representing ROCC at meetings and conventions.

● Identify and foster volunteer talent for the benefit of ROCC and serve on state and national committees as elected or appointed.

● Demonstrate adept conflict resolution skills.

 

Membership:

● In coordination with the Operations Director develop and implement effective growth and retention plans, ensuring members find value in their ROCC membership.

● Maintain a visible presence within ROCC through office visits, attendance at member events, and overseeing communications.

● Plan and oversee ROCC and membership meetings, events, and education.

● Advise and oversee NAR Ethics and Fair Housing requirements.

● Knowledgeable as to real estate licensing and REALTOR® membership requirements

 

Management:

● Oversee ROCC programming, projects, and financial operations, ensuring success, growth, and adherence to budgets.

● Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop policies and recommend new programs.

● Implement risk management practices and maintenance to safeguard Association assets and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

● Management of the NAR Core Standards requirements and reporting

● Staff, Workgroup and volunteer management

● Supervise bookkeeping and accounting functions including corporate and tax reporting, budgeting, and payments

● Reconcile bank, credit card and growth zone accounts

● Generate financial reports (i.e. balance sheets and income statements) and prepare for audits and/or reviews.

● Manage MLS coordination and member services

● Maintain current knowledge of by-laws, policies, and procedures.

● Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and manage staff recruitment, development, and performance.

 

Partnership with Board of Directors:

● Report to the Board of Directors through the Chair, attending all meetings and informing them of Association business.

● Collaborate with the Chair and Board to establish communication processes and assist in workgroup leadership and membership recruitment.

● Regularly meet with Chair, Chair-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer

 

Public Relations:

● Promote ROCC and the real estate industry through advertising and positive relationships with the media, community, and industry leaders.

● Represent ROCC at local, regional, and national meetings and community events.

 

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

● Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a complex organization, with demonstrated success in leadership and planning; executive-level experience preferred.

● Background in the real estate industry and/or CAE or RCE designation a plus.

● Exceptional leadership, communication, and technology skills.

● Demonstrated success in membership recruitment, retention, and engagement.

● Ability to collaborate with other associations at the state and national levels.

● Highest ethical character.

● Strong computer skills and general administrative management.
